I had a moment of weakness and was thinking along the lines of how Moyes could fit in. I was rightly chastised.I will continue cheering on our team and our players no matter who our manager is. I'm a blue. That's what we do. However, if Moyes is appointed I will be bitterly disappointed. His record since he was sacked by United (where he is regarded as an abysmal failure) is dreadful — 11 wins from 38 league games at Real Sociedad, six from 38 at Sunderland and just eight from 27 at West Ham. I also haven't forgotten the sly nature of his departure to United, nor have I forgotten his attempt to sign our then two best players on the cheap.
He binned us off after a miserable few years of stagnation under him. He left like Billy Boots dismissing us like we were nothing, and then belittled us as he went for Baines and Fellaini. In the end he wasn't even good enough for Sunderland.
Moyes cannot be allowed anywhere near this club. Benitez had the temerity to call us a small club. It was because Moyes never progressed the club and actually managed us like we were a small one.
My resolve is firm again. NO TO MOYES!
As for Silva, he has lost us. His unwillingness to adapt to suit the players at his disposal to at least fight for points is a disgrace. Long term, I agree with his style of play, but to pigheadedly stick with an underperforming set of tactics ill suited to our players when pragmatism is required has killed him professionally here. He could have altered our style of play even one small bit and we'd have bamboozled an opponent who would have been set up for the normal identical style of unsuccessful football. First you got to fight before you can play - the best teams apply their skill to a large foundation of hard work. Right now we need to put in the hard work for organising an unexciting defensively mean outfit. Back to square one. What a diabolical situation we are in. NO TO SILVA!
