If thats right moomoo, then why on earth not get the player he wants in now? 7m buyout and that price isn't gonna lower in the summer and maybe his form will interest other clubs, the single and only reason to not bring the liege lad in right now is that we cannot afford to pay 7m up front in one sum, which if thats the case means some serious crap is going down in the board room like
Nail on head, he wants it all up front in one payment. Really being awkward as they want to keep him till at least the summer to ensure they win the league and get into the Champion League qualifiers.

Same thing happens every window with Everton.
Starts of with a signing that´s been nailed on for ever, ie. McGeady.
Next it starts going into overdrive with 22 yo spectacular Belgians on the verge of coming in from the continent in high profile deals costing actual money. Inevitably though these hit snags when agents/owners start to demand actual money.
Then, as weeks go buy, the quality of player with which we are linked gradually worsens until we reach Kenwyne Jones stage. Then nothing.
..Until deadline day where we usually bring some quality in in deals that surprise everyone and for players reliably in the middle ground between the fantastic and the underwhelming.
Will be the same this month. We´ll get 1-2 good players, no more no less.

Phillips is 40 and won't last another year (Jones can be backup for a few) whilst Cole is about to resign with West Ham
I just want to say, I'm not a fan of Jones but he is just cover. We have to wait till the summer for our main target.

Yeah I know but even if they signed new deals but we then got Kenwyne Jones that represents a step backwards for me even if it was as a back up striker. Simply not good enough for EFC.
The only way this would be good was if it was Lukaku signing permanently.

I highly doubt we'll sign Jones. McGeady in for peanuts, almost 7 mil for Jela, and new contracts for Baines and Barkley would be a good week for me. I maybe be wrong but I think thats what DM meant. Everyone got way too excited and started expecting lukaku or Del on prem which are unlikely, or even a club takeover haha

Aye i think old DAVIDMOYES didn't Gage the current mood too well to consider resigning players a a great week like, one i fully expoected to resign - barkley, the other either signed or was sold and was fine with either tbh, especially as he decided to resign when its blatantly obvious that due to moyes troubles at united he doesn't risk bringing another of his former clubs players in so is now looking elsewhere
