Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
Why is it whenever an English team (be it Everton or England) lose a match passion is the first thing fans call for? It baffles me it really does. We lost yesterday because Yak did a booboo and we failed to create enough chances.

I feel like the English are dumb cavemen at times the can only run around alot. Who needs skill, show me his 'engine'.

Passion is determination, goingfor that 50/50 tackle, playing your best for your club.

Our performance was below par yesterday, and it did need some passion...

....But i think the main reason we lost is because of injuries...

I agreed with you completely Bruce. I think fans are looking for excuses rather than take a defeat on the chin. I shudder to think what some would have made of EFC when they've hammered us in the past. I didn't see anyone back off a tackle, not even Fernandes and that pleasantly surprised me.

I would love to know what a player would make of some of the comments flying round here recently from people who ought to know better.

I thought Fernandes had a great game by his standards this season....

Probably should start against Derby he was the best of an awful bunch

WHO SEEN NEVILLE SULK WHEN HE CAME OFF!??!

Very captain like behaviour the ********...

I think that was the most significant event from yesterday. Moyes chatted long and hard with Holden before doing it and it worked. Now I would say, in Nevile's defence, that his reaction was brought on by passion, just a thought

I noticed that Ossie could wait to get his mitts on the arm band as well. I think Pip will be disciplined for that reaction however although no skipper can have a more embarrassing thing happen to them that be substituted in a local derby:)

True, to be fair to Neville he was no worse then anyone else on the pitch yesterday.

Infact, I'd say he was better then some of our more consistant performers. But, if the gaffer pulls you off the field of play, you have to respect his decision. When you see people like Pienaar going off clapping and giving words of encouragement to the person coming on it really puts Neville's behaviour into perspective. I know which is the more captain-like behaviour....and it's definitely not sulking.

To put it one way if it was Fernandes that came off and did that there would be an uproar on here....and I'd join in aswell like but he should know better. I was truly shocked when I seen that from Neville.

I accept all of that because what you say is right but it was his passion ruling his head. People keep using that word, the Yak moaning, to me it was caused by passion, the trouble was yesterday it was not enough. Incidentally I do think the Piemans inclusion in the side yesterday was a mistake as he is far from fit, says a lot for those on the bench at the out set really

Yeah, he obviously felt aggrieved for the goal, I thought he did a better job roughing defenders up yesterday then he's done in a good while he must be running out of steam though, he can't play 90 minutes everyweek as a solo striker he just doesn't have the engine for it....

....Fernandes was good, tried the Hollywood passes very rarely and when he did they hit their intended target. Best performance in a long while from Mr Fernandes.

All in all I think as soon as that early goal went in the team looked flat....it was like they gave up the minute the ball crossed the line. None of the 50/50 decisions went our way, yesterday was one of those matches that just takes it out of you what can you actually say about the performance....They weren't [Poor language removed], it wasn't an off day....we just didn't win and that's what hurts the most. You can't pick out a reason for why we lost...we just did.

oh well off to derby for 3 points!

Keep the faith, COYB

 Beats me to mate.

I don't think Nevs reaction was petulance, was more anger at the scoreline, performance and being gobbed on by some norwegian.

I agree with the baffling 'passion' argument. Utter guff. I'd take a 'lazy' genius anyday over a 'passionate' duffer like Savage.

Apart from Neville and Jagielka (At times), no one looked arsed.

Don't forget about Howard who stay alert throughout th game, or else would it be 1-0 only, although we should have not conceded the first goal.

It's very hard for you to say if Pienaar or Arteta not try when there game also require there team mate to move around to help create the space for building up the attack, but i show when thalf the team can't be bother or not up for the game, how bad it would made the creative player like Arteta and Pienaar would look.

Everyone apart from a few should reflect the effort they put into the game, can't believe we just let them do what they want, they might have a general height advanatge so try to move the ball around in height but we should put pressure on the passer and receiver as much as possible, but the Everton team that day show almost nothing of it, or should I say not enough of them are doing it.

I want much more effort in the Derby match and I want a clean victory.
