Really?

I like Stekky but I'd hardly call his kicking top-notch, though it is better than Robles

One of the things I picked up on about him early on

His kicking is far more accurate than many we've had in recent years - in fact Martyn is really the only one who was significantly better than him that I can remember - even Big Nev's only real weak element was his kicking

That's fair enough mate

I was just interested in everyone's opinion on the matter, because personally I think his kicking is very poor (Watch him get an assist tonight now)

I wouldn't even say Stekky was that good either

It's been an issue for us for over a decade now IMO

YESS!!! Sly dig at Howard. I'm on board now mate.

Get Morgs taking them. Just to increase his pass completion rate even more.

Don't get angry at me mate

It's not my fault Robles can't kick for pudding

I wouldn't say it's woeful in comparison to some others, but it isn't great.

Even still, having one defender 40 yards deeper than everyone else/having to drop your line really deep when the goal kick is taken would cause a lot more problems than some dodgy kicking. Plus I'd imagine outfield players aren't actually any better at goal kicks. And they'd be more likely to get injured.

There's good reason it never happens.

This.

Also, our biggest problem is throw-ins. Coleman should not be allowed near one ever again.

You can't just have someone other than your full back take a throw in unless it's miles forward. The whole shape of the team would be a mess.

We haven't had a decent kicking keeper since Lord Nigel of Martyn, with Robles in particular being one of the very worst in recent history, so should we just let an outfield player take the goal kicks instead?

Actually, Joel's kicking is good, he already has an assist this season, he hits his target area around Lukaku is hit more than missed.
Besides that, it is a terrible tactic.
