Should the club apologise to VVD?

Carlo's done the classy thing and risen above the childness shown here.

Injuries and bad tackles are a part of the game, yes, but it doesn't mean you can't behave in the right way when you put a bad one in. It costs us nothing. Some will say that its a sign of weakness and accepting the RS's side of the argument, but we're on a hiding to nothing here if we just dig our heels in and don't apologize.

I won't lose sleep over VVD, but I would if my club didn't behave to the standard I expect.

Has he apologised or is he just "sorry" to hear about an injured player? There's a difference and the headline in this thread is rather ambiguous on the point which suggests the latter rather than the former.

First of all, a minute's silence please for VVD.

No way should Everton apologise to that loathsome cult. No way. Do they ever apologise to anyone for their dirty deeds. Did they apologise for their self-centred Project Big Picture power grab? That disgusting club have always had their hatchet men: back to Tommy Smith, Graeme Souness, (excuse the bad language) Steve McMahon, and since then they have continued with a culture of dirty snides like Gerrard, Robertson, Van Dijk.

They deliberately targeted your playmaker from the word go. Are they going to apologise for injuring James? Nope.

Pickford's tackle was rash and reckless but was it premeditated? Of course not. Was it a red? Of course.

Should Van Dijk still have been on the pitch then? No. He kicked and injured James Rodriguez early on and that deserved a yellow and he committed another bookable offence.

If we are talking apologies how about apologising to English football, to your club for their deliberately dirty tactics, and finally to Wimbledon (that Sanchez, header was mint), to Luton, to Coventry et al for costing them European football and most of all to Everton for depriving iits greatest team of a chance to play in the European Champions Cup.

No way should anyone apologise to that odious [Poor language removed] of a club.

In total contrast, Everton's dignity in this is commendable.
