It´s not out of consideration for Robertos feelings mate, it´s more that I´m worried that by sacking him we could be putting ourselves even deeper in trouble. Who do we get to replace him? McClaren, Peter Reid?

Harry Redknapp might be an option.
Would redknapp leave one relegation scrap for another. Don't dislike the bloke just that he loves living on the south coast, can't see he would want to come here.

That'd be great. I'd love to see him get the chance to boot these quislings out through the exit in the summer.

I have said it before. If players have contracts they can just sit them out and keep picking up the pay packet unless you pay them off. The club cannot just sell players, another club would have to want them and come in with an offer presuming said player wanted to go.

Now all those talk of having a clearance will you wake to reality.

WE are stuck with the likes of Barry (thanks to q 3 year contract) and the others thanks to new contracts and extensions all given with RM's approval.

Well he made changes people have been moaning about, shame they were stupid changes.

This guy is all over the place right now. Hasn't a scooby about defending, just like at Wigan.

Remember in his interview, his words were "I don't work on having a good defensive record to win things."

I think if Roberto goes then it would not surprise me if the club goes for a in-house managerial team, (Royle, Ferguson, Irvine) at least until the end of the season.

I think I have had an epiphany reading the comments here.

I was fuming at Martinez but it didnt feel right.
I think the players are the problem i.e Barry , Distin , Alcaraz , both keepers being turd + misfiring Lukaku + no holding player + injuries + poor refereeing + lack of any guile or balls in the team on the pitch.

My fume at Martinez is persisting with Barry , Putting central players on the wing and NOT buying a centre back or a keeper.

Not making a million excuses for him but if he can get one or two of these issues straightened we might have a chance.

This season can fugoff forever.

RM has been worked out by all the managers.

We have no planB (or whatever RM tries just does not come off) - now it is just a matter of time before he gets the boot.

If he wants to turn things around he needs to buy the players that play his system well.

question of interest. if Martinez won us both europa and FA Cup this season but also got us relegated, would people still want him sacked?

would kind of give the impression we're a cup team like, but if mid-table finishes but constantly in europe and winning things is bad, then fair enough.

if your answer is no, would winning one of them and getting relegated deserve sacking?

i'm not really sure what my answer is, but tbh, if he won us a trophy but got us relegated, i'd possibly take it. The reality is, we'd win the championship with ease and bounce straight back up anyway so that would be another trophy, so it would only be one season away from the prem.

We have gone from the 5th best team in our country with the 3rd/4th best defence and a free scoring attack to what we are now. And all with the same players too. Now that surely is in the first instance down to the manager. It did not just start with the current 4 game loss but much earlier in the season if you go back to those games and before slagging off certain players.

He's been worked out by everyone and he's too stubborn to change anything. It's only really going to end one way unless he changes (which he clearly wont) - he gets us relegated or he gets fired.

I wouldn't mind us going through a bad patch but the players look fed up, I genuinely don't think they believe in him any more. They don't know their role in the team, and you get the feeling instead of playing on instinct they're worried about passing it short constantly.

He makes the game more complicated than it needs to be, and every opposition team we face knows it.

Relegation would seriously damage the club.

YES, relegation with our squad is absolutely unacceptable. We'd have to cull the squad because we sure as hell couldn't afford their wages and there's plenty who would jump ship.

@davek can you answer this; a simple Yes or No would be great
