Should Baines thank John Terry?

Not sure, he also did take Wynalda's job as an analyst on ESPN as well. No wonder why Eric laughed on the show and said "hey could we change the subject"

That was good tv.

"I'm divorced now, and I don't have Harkes' phone number any more."

But let's be honest, with Wynalda's personality there was about a 0% chance that he would still be married anyway.

I'm sure I remember an incident after the 9/11 attacks where Terry and some 'associates' were in NY and saying some derogatory things about the people that lost their lives in the attacks, making drunken chants and general ass clown behavior.

I'm 90 per cent certain of this, wasn't sure whether to bring this up, but there must be others for whom this rings a bell.

Never liked this individual in all honesty, but he is a good player with fine leadership I'll give him that much.

Knew Lampard was there . Couldn't recall Terry , though .
He has got other previous , mind .
Inflated ego disease = him .
Mingin' Slapper - if albeit half tidy - Money Grabbin' Through Prostituting One's Self Through Both Chelsea's Dressing Room And Now The Press Disease = her .

There was about a 0% chance he'd still be working at ESPN with his personality as well. Not that I don't enjoy it.

Interesting coincidence re: Wynalda/Landon/John Terry:

On one of Wyndo's first Fox Fone-In shows (what his grammer teacher thinks whenever she sees 'fone'!?!), a caller ranted about why Landon doesn't play in the EPL.

Wyndo's snapped: "Why doesn't Landon play in the EPL? Two Words: JOHN TERRY!!! Next caller...."

I forgot this happened to the US team as well until I watched Fox Football Phone in last night. Eric Wynalda (one of the shows hosts) wife was shagged by fellow international John Harkes before the 98 WC. The coach kicked Harkes off the team but Wynalda intervened and said to put him back on the squad b/c he was one of the best players.

I just read about that today and was shocked. Made sense though as I never understood why Harkes was booted off the team. Now I know.

Baines all the way to be honest, he haedly played a game for us untill Jan last year loads of time.

This.

The 98 WC coach for the US said he feels it did affect the squad negatively and is one of the reasons why the US finished 31st? in the WC that year.

However though I don't remember the 98 cup too well, I think Sampson also had the brilliant idea to employ a 3-6-1 for a couple games as well that year w/o even bothering to try that formation in friendlies.

Yes, there were many contributing factors. But when your best midfielder sleeps with your best forward's wife, well, things aren't going to go well.

I'll add that obviously at that time, many things had to go right for the US to do well, but their showing at 98 was inexcusable.
