His foot was dangerously extended and if the ref thought he could see Baines when he went for the ball its a red for dangerous play.

But it looks that he only has his eyes on the ball and was trying to control it with an outrectehd all be it high foot.

The worst referee performance I've seen since Clattenburg, except on this occasion he's actually just completely useless all round rather than being a blatant cheat.

I think Reading just got hosed badly too (watched the replay they did). In past years there has always been at least 1-2 good refs, I can't think of one that is good today. The pitch is infested with CLOWNS in black shirts. Howard Webb and Riley have been decent this year but I wouldn't call them good.

Wigan also got robbed of a point as well from a Walcott dive.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that, it wasn't like Rodwell's where there was play acting and no contact and the Reff got it wrong.
They will, as always, find every way not to over-rule the Reff and thus perpetuate the status quo.

The Reff was wrong in the spirit of the law but technically right in the letter of the law. It was foot up aka dangerous play. But in the real world it wasn't much of anything, if anything Baines should have a mild talking to for ' dangerous heading '
When you get a little fells bending his head down and a big longlegged bloke stretching his leg up a bit of common is called for.

But this is the Prem Reffs here so stupidity is the order of the day.

If Cole's gets recinded then the oh so obvious payback red for Gibbo must as well....
