This was in The Times today.

Palermo have made an inquiry about Everton youngster Shkodran Mustafi. The 19-year-old centre-back has been on the Toffees bench but is yet to make a full appearance for them.

seemed a lack of rumours on here today. I Can't link it as the damn times charges a subscription to see there site.

Good sign, that, if true. I don't think Duffy's going to be the player alot of fans hope he will be so, especially if Dier doesn't stay on, we need Mustafi to develop into a premiership player to save us some dough on a new CB when Distin hangs em up.

Hope he stays with us, trust me i have seen duffy play a few games with everton reserves and irish u21 and he is a long long way off premier league standard.Only thing he has for him is height and a good header of the ball.As for control, timing of tackling, positional sence way off. Duffy needs to go out on loan for a full season to learn his trade.

Mustafi was a under 19 German captain or something....future German international written all over him, and yes a good sign if other clubs want him

Needs to go on loan....hopefully Duffy goes to Burnley on loan so we can see how both progress..

it surprises me if Duffy is going backwards. What are we basing this judgement on exactly?

The freak injury he had in training with ireland last year has probably halted his progress a bit. We dont really know if its affecting him. I think it was a punctured lung or something he got in a collison with a goalkeeper.

It was a shocking injury. He was lucky to survive it, such was the freakishness and severity of the incident.

I wouldn't be surprised if that had a big impact on his progress!

FFS. When you read that story its unbelievable that he is still playing football at all. Maybe its a mental issue now which is holding him back.

I hadn't even thought of that. If it was me I'd be having flashbacks on every set piece!

Mustafi should be a top player, think he just one of a couple of youngters we got over the last few years so possibly we should have a group kids coming thou to save coin ....... Mustafi, garbutt, vellios, siva, plus with barkley and baxter hopefully if at least 2 of them become 1st team players a few ££ can be saved.

One thing I remember of Mustafi is how well he kept Connor Wickham quiet in one of the international games. This is the same Connor Wickham the neighbours are supposedly after for a good eight figure sum.

I say we should start playing him, he's probably more ready than Shane Duffy and looks a quality defender. I hope typical British stubbornness doesn't come into play here.
