I have cut Crab a bit of slack since he suffers awful homesickness and my experience of that affliction* has taught me to be sensitive toward its sufferers.

* I once went camping with a mate, Ross Pottinger who blubbered the whole trip because he was homesick. I was not very sensitive at the time (I was only 10) and told him to stop being a sissy and to toughen up. I should have been more sympathetic...

I was homesick once working away from home. It didn’t stop me doing my job, I’m not making light of somebody’s plight but homesickness that stops you doing the most basic things? It’s like he has fun in the training ground and waits for his crippling homesickness to kick in as he steps foot on the pitch
