Voted Sheeds, purely to make it 21 all.
In reality, they were two different types of players so it's hard to seperate them. They were both potential match changers in their own way. If push came to shove, and you could only have one of them I'd probably go for Sheeds though ...

... or maybe Steven. ffs, leave me alone, I don't know.
Good thread though.

Must be the closest midfield we've had to the holy trinity,Sheeds and Tricky provided such balance,Reidy the little ferret in the middle picking up the scraps giving it simple to the classy Brace who would spread it long or short to Sheeds or Tricky, aaaahh what days, what a superb midfield!!!:D

A Palace fan writes....Trevor Steven was one of the most underated players of his era.
Sheedy could play mind but as an old fashioned number 11 I thought Dave Thomas (with socks rolled down) was even better.

I wouldn't call either of them wingers really, not like Dave Thomas or Kanchelskis. I remember a game from the mid 80s when we mullered Arsenal and Steven played centre mid, his preferred position I think. My first trip to Goodison as a wide eyed youngster. Couldn't believe how green the grass was and how close up we were to the players. What a team we had then. If you held a gun to my head I'd pick Sheedy, just because he's left footed and so am I. Always pretended to be him when playing footy as a kid. The only thing we had in common though was a lack of pace...

As I was left footed I adored Sheedy, though feel bad as Tricky Trev was brilliant. Would love either of them in our side now as they would add so much to the side.

i'm hurt mate, really. Sorry that you made a tit of yourself, it's ok to backtrack and insult me for your mistake though. run along good chap.

Yes, as you say I made a mistake, but as I said all you've got is being a self elected member of the typo police... so yeah then if that's what you crave, I bow to your perfectness, obviously I am really not worthy, happy now?
I'm done here
you're a bit of a small time wind up merchant and I'm not playing any more so on to ignore for you sunshine
