Ok fellas, we all spend far too much time shaving our whiskers. Anyone want to share what works effectively for you and doesn't tear your face up too badly? Ladies, feel free to share what works for your legs/pits/other if you like...

Are you Bill Duke:

or do you require a more sensitive touch? Cream or Soap? Brush or fingers? Straight-edge/Disposable/Electric/Multi-blade? After-shave or dry? Details, people!

Me:
Can't shave every day. If I do, I get torn to bits, thus, I shave every other day. I tried a pre-shave oil, but it makes me break out. I use a triple-blade razor (the Gilette Mach 3 Turbo) and eShave products (white tea or cucumber, generally):

with a nice badger-hair brush:

I take a dab of the shave cream, lather it in my palm with the brush, then apply liberally.

After, I use an alum block to close the pores up, then a dab of after-shave soother or cream if I feel too dry (particularly in the winter).

Anyone else?

Stuff that wet shaving bollocks, done it for years and hated it.

Now i've got a beard trimmer and whenever it starts to get too itchy give the face a going over with that.

Easy.

Generally, just soap will do. Someone left some shaving cream in my house though, so I used that for a bit. Works a bit better.

Not a massive fan of electric razors. My current one's possibly a bit old, but it doesn't give me as clean a shave all over, and tends to irritate my skin a bit.

We are almost the same. again.

I hate shaving. Its more to with the refill blades costing a mint than the repetitive annoyance of face hair.

I is well bearded up at the moment though and loving the Man-cation.

It's more than just shaving habits McB. Though you're right admittedly.

Prefer to just use disposable razors myself as well. Dont bother to shave that often, maybe twice a week.

Cold cold water for the blade, face washed first with hot hot water then a hot moist towel for 5 minutes on the face just to loosen the chops up and get the skin ready for a work over. Sit and get devastated on an easy sudoku for that 5 minutes.

If I am shaving and know I am going out after, there is a 101% chance I'll cut myself. That stat has a 1% margin of error.

I bought a Badger Brush today, and had an Alum Block through the post the other day. I've started to use normal shaving soap as well.

That abstard get's right down t'wood, the shaving soap nice and warm and off in a jiffy, the feel of the Alum Block across my bonce is unreal.
I used the whole combo the other day and had a right shiner, only trouble was my hat wouldn't stay on.

I use the same on my fizzog as well but tend to pluck them on my scrote and hoop.
