Never a good sign when opposite sides of the family attempt to implicate each other in the Press.

I can only assume that the motives for this were financial (perhaps they saw how much the find Maddie fund raised, or contemplated the figures the Press pay for exclusives), which only goes to show that they're stupid, as well as greedy, lazy and callous. Exploiting the poor girl like that, how [Poor language removed] up will she be by it all?

Th other tragedy is what happens the next time a kid genuinely goes missing? Thanks to these numpties, the family will have to deal with all kinds of scepticism, rumour and innuendo (particularly from the Gutter Press who savaged the McCanns)
