Less international goals then Stern John.
More than Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker, Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer and even Emile Heskey.
Yeah, yeah, talk to me when he can match up with Viv Woodward.
I Damoned him. I didn't know there was an England amateur international team.
We were so good, we had two teams back then. The pros and the amateurs, and they would both play other nations top sides.
So, as far as I'm concerned any goal scored for the amateurs is as legitimate as one scored for the pros as it's the same opposition. Which makes Woodward better than Keane and so England better than Ireland. QED.
That is some rock solid logic there. I can't argue with it.
In all seriousness, Keane's international goal scoring record is immense. Most players just don't score that many in europe. You tend to only get players in lesser confederations racking up goal tallies like that.
Even tho he's a bit older now, that's only intensified his traditional Irish look of "Oh you think I can't do it do ya? Too old am I? You passin me the ball or what now? ****** pass".
I'd probably only have him here if he was on a bosman though to be honest. He's a bit past it. Then again, he does seem to play very well for Ireland even now. He was gash on loan at West Ham, mind.
To be fair, I wouldn't want to sign Woodward either. I think the fact he's been dead for fifty years cancels out his excellent goal record.
Still he'd probably offer more than Anichebe.
