Get your facts correct dumb brain Duffy played five prem games for us on the run and was MOTM in three of those games - so he had proved himself to be a contender , and oh yes our central parings have looked great this season - how many goals have we conceded so far this season???????

I suggest you learn basic punctuation before calling people "dumb brain".

He didn't play a lot of games for us but the games he did play in he did well. The manager will see more of him in training and taking into consideration Alceraz, Stones, Browning as cover for Jags and Distin, then you can see reasons for his exclusion. I believe Duffy also seen the writing on the wall and opted for a move to try and further his career. Still think he is a decent player and it is only now that a few are questioning our decision to let him go because of the unforeseen injuries. I hope he does well at Blackburn

This is far to sensible a summation for this thread. Get out.

The facts appear to be that neither Moyes nor Martinez thought Shane was a premier league defender.
The facts also show that no other premier league club wanted to sign him for next to nothing.

Absolutely crying plus shaking at "dumb brain"lollol

I wish the lad the best, but its hardly as though he's playing at Barca and we're going why didn't we keep the fella. He's getting some game time in the Championship and will probably forge a decent career for himself. The coaches in Moyes and Martinez didn't rate him enough to play him ahead of Distin, Jags, Heitinga or Stones so he wasn't played. No shame in letting him go at all.

Baines - Mark Ward - Steve Mcmahon anymore????

....I don't think Baines was released as a young pro, I think he (and Jagielka) were let go before reaching that level (but I might be wrong). Steve McMahon was different, as I recall he moved on because of the lack of money in a new contract. Everton didn't release him.

My understanding is this is about professional players Everton let go as surplus to requirements.
