Really hope he's part of our squad next year. We wouldn't have conceded so many goals from set pieces if he was in our team IMO and we might have carried some threat from corners.

I think if anything this Southampton game makes a case for Duffy's involvement next season. Duffy is a player that will dominate both penalty boxes in the air, something we certainly didn't have today and I would say this season. I don't agree with the notion that Duffy isn't 'Martinez's kind of player'. You can't have one type of player for a position, you need options.

a season of championship football at the tough end is surely going to do wonders for Shane, only really seen highlights of Yeovil but seems he's been in the thick of it all season.
bet he's gutted to be part of a relegated team but bet he's learned loads.get a bit of coaching from our backroom staff and lets hope for the best.

I said in the other thread, 'Loan watch', that i thought Duffy had been Yeovil's best player when i'd seem him play (been to watch Yeovil 4 times this year), that might not actually be a credit to Duffy, as Yeovil were well out their depth, but he certainly needed the full 90 minutes, week in, week out, and that is what he got. Gary Johnson consistently praised the lad, and all the Yeovil fans i know or spoke to, were in main, in praise for him.

Whether he comes back next year remains to be seen, but i think he could easily cut it for a top Championship side next season, no problems, so i guess, you have to hope the likes of Leicester, Burnley or one of the other promoted teams decided to take a punt for a season, because that, really would be brilliant experience for the lad.

He'll be back next year. We need the coverage and it's time to see if he's got the mettle to be in the prem and playing in Europe.

Not sure how the marks are calculated but it seems promising!

He has consistently been rated highly all season. Admittedly he might just stand out in a god awful team but not usre what else he can do.

I hope he gets a crack at our team next season, especially with the Europa league happening

Great stuff. By all accounts he's been excellent in a tough league playing in a defence that wouldn't half have been tested! Hopefully he has a future here as he was very assured when he had that short spell in the first team.

Be interesting to see how he and Stones might play together.
