Shane Duffy

At what point did I say I wanted him to go?

I'm giddy with excitement because we've got a really promising back 4, even if he did leave

Bloody Hell,

Some people on here are just spoiling for an argument aren't they?

They'll find a problem with anything they can
I'm so confused.

You're giddy with excitement at the thought of a back four of Browning, Stones, Duffy, and Oviedo.

Stones - yes. Browning is a CB (and right sided like Stones...). Duffy is slow (I hope he succeeds). I hope we can keep a hold of Oviedo, honestly, but I have trouble seeing him as first choice for a few years.

Coleman, Stones, Duffy (maybe...hopefully), Oviedo....I like that. Browning as backup/cup/European cover for Stones. Maybe this in 3 years? 4?

Not trying to argue, it just seemed like you're more excited for potential than for a current star. It's very unlikely Browning will be as good a RB as Coleman. No knock on Browning, but Coleman is brilliant. I'd be very sad to see the back of him.

You can read into my comments whatever you want mate

I knew what I meant and I have no need to explain it to you

The thing I do worry about with Duffy is he's slow as anything from what I've seen.

That's a concern.

Interested to see what Martinez does with him.

Sell him to the likes of Hull or Leicester next year or the year after (if he's here next he will get loaned to that level of team), he's not a Martinez type player in the slightest, slow and turns like the arc royal, technically poor, can look amazing at a lower level due to his size and aerial ability and the fact he's not playing against anyone really who can expose his big weaknesses

Don't think Duffy will be good enough. As @bluestevon says, he's not particularly naturally gifted, he's not that athletic, he's just big and imposing. Browning seems more an interesting prospect to me. He is very athletic, very difficult to beat and pretty good on the ball for a CB.

Browning and stones could end up as the cb partnership for club and country for a long long time mate if they keep developing the way they have been lately

We reportedly beat big clubs like Chelsea to Duffy's signature back in the day. He was the main man in his EFC youth sides as he shone at all levels, and looked good when called up to the 1st team after an injury crisis. Moyes even said that he 'won't be beaten in the air' when commenting on Duffy's heading ability.
I haven't kept up with how he's doing on loan but if he's doing well then great, I expected that from a lad who I still think has a promising future with us.

Does his dar still post?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Stones has been impressive, no doubt. But Browning hasn't played a game for the first team yet. I'd just be happy with them becoming stalwarts for Everton tbh.

Spoken to a Yeovil mate of mine. He's said he's been the stand-out performer from the entire league. He said that if we think Stones is good (he has watched the last few Everton games with me where Stones has been filling in for Jags) then we'll be surprised with Duffy.

Coleman - Stones - Duffy - Baines

I'm liking that back four.

No offense like but Yoevil are under the coche most games, and that will play to his strengths in the air and disguise his lack of pace and agility

If Yeovil are under constant pressure and leaking goals, surely it is easier to say Duffy is cack for not preventing it? No, he is apparently the real deal.

I'm seeing the upside mate, at his age he's progressing well enough to start making the bench, good things lie ahead like

Your not listening are ya lad? if a teams penned back a hell of a lot in games like Yoevil are then a player like duffy whose impressive in the air and strong will have more chance to look decent, same as a keeper who plays in a cack side often looks a lot better than when they play for a decent one

Coming from someone that watches a lot of championship, theirs definitely much better championship defenders but he has been a stand out player for Yeovil
