Shane Duffy

Your not listening are ya lad? if a teams penned back a hell of a lot in games like Yoevil are then a player like duffy whose impressive in the air and strong will have more chance to look decent, same as a keeper who plays in a cack side often looks a lot better than when they play for a decent one

I'm listening, but are you reading, mate?

If Yeovil are leaking goals like a crack in a bathtub, it doesn't matter how many clearances and tackles a defender makes, he's still going to get blamed for not doing well enough.

Stones and Duffy are chalk and cheese (not necessarily a bad thing in all honesty, may lack a bit of pace though). We can't take Jags for granted though, he's a tremendous centre half and when it's time to replace him we need real quality.

Not really though mate, look at the credit caulker is getting at cardiff and marshall too, both arent as good as the rep their getting as their the two stand out players in a otherwise awful defensive team they get credit beyond how good they actually are just for not being as god awful as the rest

They're getting rep because they're doing well.

If they were doing badly they would be slated.

It is harder to look like a good player in a team that ships goals for fun than a in a team that doesn't concede often. Look at Cahill at Chelsea. Absolute cack, but because he's playing for Chelsea, he's rated highly.

Please don't make my head hurt any more.

But would they be good for a team that plays much further up the pitch? Or would their lack of pace be exposed by quick counter attacks that occur more often due to the rest of the team not being in their own final third with them all the time?

Two different skillsets required to defend well for a Pulis team and a Martinez team.

No, really, I'm done.

I think Shane has just missed out on competitive game time and with more of it he'd potentially be in the Everton team right now. From Wikipedia Shanes played 62 games compared to someone his own age like Phil Jones by game time hes played 138 and Nathaniel Clyne who is a year older has played 195 games. This is his most consistent amount of games he has played in his whole career and has been ranked as one of the better players in the championship.

Remember his debut and the four/five games he had for us = he was outstanding MOTM in a couple of them along side JH as well , but DM dropped him?????

Ah yes, DM had a great record with encouraging and bringing through young talent.

Shay Coleman was more value to us on loan at Blackpool - Tony H was such an outstanding RB.

Ross Barkley couldn't be risked in the first team after giving away the ball and then conceding a penalty - best stick with the likes of Phil Neville

Credit to him for finding Stones but.....would he have played him in the first team or would he be off on loan somewhere while Tony H is pressed in as a CB to cover Jags' injury?

Hopefully Duffy is sorting his life out....not getting so beered up all the time. The boy has potential and we know Bobby will give him a chance if he deserves it

Spot on exactly agree with all your points!
