Shane Duffy

...agree, particularly have to think Distin can't keep this level up for much longer. Heitinga is virtually out of the equation, but I'm really hopeful that Alcaraz will be mid-term cover. My Wigan source tells me this lad is the real deal. Also, we know RM tried to sign Stones for Wigan and he really looks the part. I have a feeling that Duffy is not thought good enough. Current priority lies elsewhere as we ok at CB for a window or two.

Imo he's got some major strengths, one of which is where we are weakest, and think that there's a good chance he has the time and ability to overcome his own weaknesses.
We'll need four good CB's for Martinez' tactics I reckon, meaning, there'll be a birth available at the end of this year when JH jogs on, and Distin probably relegated to cover if he slows.
As you say, our spending priorities lie elsewhere, so the lads got a chance and I hope he grabs it with both hands :)

Come on guys where is the hope for our Everton youth? It just sounds like everyone is writing off Duffy because he's on loan (instead of on the bench) and he's not a fast runner.:P

Could it have been a mistake to extend his loan to a team starting to lose weekly, can't see it being good for Lundstrum either

Conceding eight in the last two games isn't good though, and at this time of year with injuries and suspensions maybe a better team in the division might have come in for him.

To be honest at least Yeovil are a team who try to play a bit. Better he was playing in a losing team using the ball than in a winning one playing the way Big Sam does.
