Far too immoblie to be playing midfield IMO.

He must be good somewhere FFS. Didn't he get a game for Atletico at RB? Bung him in and push Coleman up. Worth a go.... scarce resources and all that... Or maybe he could be employed as a steward.

We are led to believe he has refused to play RB again.

No sauce, just something I read/heard.

I could be way off.

Hahaha. He thinks he's that hard he could keep an eye on the away fans on his own. The reality is he'd get dropped like a bad habit by a 7yr old with a skinhead and a fringe.

Think he got sent off twice at RB for them cos he kept getting skinned. Back to Ajax me thinks.

if this is true he should have been kicked to the curb and never allowed to wear royal blue again. thousands of people like me would die to pull on that royal blue, hell billions of the world's population would give anything to be a professional footballer and wouldn't care where they were asked to play.

i was like that for clarbeston road under 11's ffs, i'd play wherever the manager wanted me

Interesting, earlier on when hibbert and coleman were injured and nev was playing midfield, I wondered why Moyes kept putting Jagielka out wide and heitinga in the center. I assumed it was because of Heitinga's limited pace, but maybe this is the reason.

Of course, would Moyes really put up with a player refusing to play a certain position for the good of the team?

You would think not, but it seems strange that he hasnt played there.

I know it was only a friendly but this lad had a lot of criticism today. It could just be nerves or he simply isn't good enough.

What do you think should be done with him? Personally I would send him to a championship club on loan because he isn't reallsticly going to be getting much game time here.

It's a case of the normal...we have a young player who moyes won't play....he must be brilliant, moyes is **** blah blah...

Yes he needs a loan to see what level he is at. I doubt it will end up being that of a top 6 PL side.

I know it sounds cruel but hey ho.

He had a bad game, it happens sometimes. Doesn't mean he's a bad player. His passing isn't quite there yet, nor is his positioning, he needs time out on loan. Still could become a decent player for us.

....there has been a lot of hype about this lad for a while, with folk clamouring for him to get a starting place and a run of games. Hopefully those demands will be tempered with more realism after today's performance against second rate opposition. Duffy will be in a queue behind Jagielka, Distin, Alcaraz and Heitinga and I wouldn't be surprised if we never see him start a competitive game for the Blues.
