I'd disagree. Distin and Jags coped fine when the big lad came on. It was the fact they through the kitchen sink at us and we decided to sit deep and let the pressure build they equalised.

We should be playing these off the park with football, not grocking out

He was still a threat and took the pressure off them because he won flick ons and helped keep the ball. I agree we should completely out-class them footballing wise, but out-footballing them isn't going to stop them hoofing it to grocks when they get possession. And besides, Jagielka is quicker, stronger and a better tackler than Neville. As much as it isn't his natural position, if our only other option is Neville I wouldn't be too bothered seeing him start there.

coleman will be back for the replay

No we didnt. What did he do bar the goal? Coz I didnt see it.

Felli marked the big fella sucessfully when he came on for all the set pieces sending Duffy on in the 92nd minute just added more extra time in which they scored in the 95th minute a dubious pushing goal Felli was not marking the big fella when he scored!

Pretty much my view - if the opportunity is there, I'd play him.

shane has been told he wont be travelling to sunderland today for the 21s match tonight....bartley,vellios are travelling....could he get the nod tomorrow???....hope so because he is getting very frustrated sitting on the bench.

I'm sensing that he's gonna play mate. Amongst a few changes.

I genuinely hope so, just watched the highlights again from the weekend and we are crying out for someone that can dominate in the air- both goals would have been dealt with if someone had taken charge and headed it away.

Hopefully Shane is the man to deal with that massive bloke theyve got up front tomorrow.

totally agree, shane has played against the big lad before when he was on loan for s****horpe and he handled him really well...smith is nothing special but a real handfull in the air.

We need a smart defender who will watch for the jump, quick nudge in the back, take him away from the flight of the ball and mop up on the bounce.

Odd thing is that last season Heitinga did this all day long. This season he hasn't done it once against anybody.

I'm all for Duffy being in the first team - he has done literally nothing wrong when he's been in the first team and was shoddily treated when dropped from the set up completely last year.

its really hard to know ijjysmith, but i am hoping he does get some game time very soon...even trappatoni has told him to go out on loan ...we seem to stuck between a rock and a hard place at the in...

I remember you posted around November time (somewhere) saying Shane asked to go on loan and Moyes told him he'd get his chance in a few weeks. Was there any reason given for why he wasn't given a chance? Unless he's been injured, it's ridiculous the way he's been treated.

Tubey is right.

Those few games he played (alongside Heitinga I think) he did literally nothing wrong at all.

Bonkers that he was dropped as soon as the favourites were fit or not suspended (I forget which).
