Just read over on tribal football (Yeah i know its bollocks)!

That Everton have beaten Arsenal and Man U to the signing of promiseing Northen Ireland U15 centre back Shane Duffy and will begin in the acadamy shortly!

Did anyone else hear this or is it tribal rubissh? Though they dont usually report on obscure young players

Nope, I believe it to be true I'm sure i've read a match report somewhere that he's plays for us. whilst he was on international duty.

I.e. Everton player Shane Duffy's Ireland beat Wales in blah...and blah I'll have to find the report but I'm positive I've heard that name before somewhere.

A year long loan will do him the world of good and as long as we keep heitinga shouldn't bother us.

However Tranmere? Surely a championship club would want him.

I like the idea of sending Duffy to Tranmere this season. They look a very good shout for promotion, he'll potentially be playing in a winning team (which is good whatever level you're playing at), it'll keep him local and if they do come up, the experience of being part of a team that wins promotion (even if it is League 1) will give him a kind of confidence boost I couldn't see a Championship club that would give him game time offering

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere but Duffy was talking about looking to go out on loan last night on Twitter. Personally I think this is probably a good thing although we are a little short at CB if he goes

If it's a short term loan with a recall option then it's a good move for all.

Just send him out on a emergency loan so we can recall him if we want.
