Shane Duffy

Regular International who has ended up with many a Premier League game under his belt

Good defender and a real threat from set pieces too

Martinez should have given him more of a chance

Still looks out for Everton results too

Good egg is Shane-O Duff

O Dubhthaigh - meaning "the dark one".

Its one of the reasons that loan spell at Celtic didnt work out for him. Dealing with his fathers passing and a bucket load of sectarianism.

He's been in great form the last 6 months for Ireland. I'd much rather him that Mick Keane if I'm honest.

The fact he's managed to keep a spot in that Brighton team when Potter is all about the possession stuff highlights how is overall game has improved over the years

Nothing wrong with his passing ability here

Even when he played for us I thought it was always over stated how bad he was with the ball at his feet

If it hadn't been for absolute wastes of space like Antolin Alcaraz then we could have easily developed him more in-house and he could have stayed as an effective defender for us

But no, he didn't do step overs, so Martinez left him out in the cold and he had no choice but to move on

It's his attempts to block shots by just randomly throwing himself on the ground that gets me. Phil Jones used to take tonnes of stick for doing much the same at Man Utd but Duffy is an order of magnitude worse.

Just seeing this article. Delighted for Shane

I wish we still had him in the squad, and I loved his Dad's posts as Letterkenny - they both seemed to really get what Everton is about.

His Dad was a lovely man posted on here when Shane was here, he was rightly really proud of Shane and seemed really immersed in the club when Shane was breaking through.

Was really sad to hear of his passing, they sounded close, I was glad he got to see Shane fulfil his potential and make a great career for himself, im sure he was so proud of him.
