Hopefully he gets some game time , not gonna get it here this year , be interestin to see how he goes , best of luck to the lad anyways .

Just remember Everton to include release clause , givin our record with injuries , just incase like .

Considering what happened to him last May it is great he is back playing and learning all the time. The loan will give him game time and toughen him up. Ok its not the premier league but he will learn a lot more playing at Burnley than he will in the reserves. I wonder if Burnley are going to play Leicester, would be great to see Duffy marking the 'Yak Attack'

Was watching the reserves game on t.v last night ( shut up , that channel's free..so I might as well utilise it!!) and the only recognisable name was Vellios. Now, I'm not one of those guys that stands in the freezin' cold with a notebook and disposable camera and writing names down for the future, so I can bore people to death about up and coming 'the next Rooney's' and how i remember seeing him as a 12 year old... No.. I just tune in now and then.

But, now I may be wrong, cos times change. But aren't reserves games supposed to be used as game time for 'fringe players and bench warmers' ? Shouldn't the likes of Marvin Guaye and even if he's still here..Juao Silva be getting some playing time during a mini-derby ?

Again, maybe I'm missing the point, but it would explain why Moyes is reluctant to blood some of our younger players, when they have no recent game experience to speak of . I think, Moyes has put a fork in this season and is just coasting it out til the Summer to reassess his squad and job :(

I hope I'm wrong and hope some one will will explain why :(

I think Silva is back in Portugal at the moment, and sadly with our current injuries, they were our fringe players I guess

I'd really really really really really massively really like to think Marvin McGueye didn't play because Moyes is saving him for the Villa game! But WE all know, that's not true

As for Duffy, glad he's getting a run out. He's position is not in a crisis like our centre midfield is this weekend

Think I'm right in saying that the reserve competition is largely regarded as a joke and not fit for any kind of purpose. There are nowhere near enough games and the ones that are there are not of a suitably high quality to either provide experience of first team football or provide match fitness for those returning from injury. That's why the majority of leading teams have a dozen or so youngsters out on loan at any one time.

The puzzling thing is that during Moyes' reign the only player I can think of who went out to aid their development was Coleman. Suddenly Turner, Nsiala, Duffy, Akpan, Wallace, Agard and Silva are making loan moves. Is it because we need them to be ready to bolster a paper-thin squad? Is it because things are so tight that we need to lighten the wage bill by a few grand a week? Or is it because we're hoping to generate some funds through sales in the summer?
