Most obvious points dropped are the 2 at home to Newcastle and Huddersfield

Just shows you over the course of the season how these can be so vital
Bit of a strange 2 games to pick, when you could have said games were we were 2 up in ,including the away game at the toon for example,or Bournemouth, they are the more obvious points droped-we could use games like palace last week were we should have won as well, but anyhow going over the season with a comb wont make not getting 7th etc any better

Sad that we won't be in Europe next season but over 38 games you usually finish where you deserve (apart from the RS the spawny bells).

Just hope we can add to Spurs' misery now and claim another big scalp and that the RS implode and I'll chalk this up as a solid if unspectacular first season for Marco.

Wolves going on a European tour eh

Will probably attract decent players as well
Gutted we've missed out on Europe. Some people think this stage in our development can be leapfrogged. I can put money on it that some even think missing out on Europe will allow us to focus on breaking the top 4.....
The downside is that some of our targets may consider the lack of European involvement to be a disincentive to signing for us.

That's obvious but I thought I'd mention it.
You lads notice that players always talk about wanting to play in the champions league? There’s absolutely bugger all ambition to play in the Europa. It means you get a worse schedule some weeks than the Championship. If you have a squad with quality and depth (as we did during our good runs in the tournament) then fair enough, but right now it’s be a total misstep.

"We're not ready to play in Europe yet, we need to focus on the league and finish 7th so we can get ready to play in Europe next season"

Wolves are a bit irksome to me but fair play to them, they did what we didn't. ALWAYS annoys me when people discount games at the beginning of the year. The points you earn in September are JUST as important as the ones you earn in April.

not really im looking at it from the persepective of games you would expect to win before the whistle has blown

Fair comment, but of course Wolves were the first team in the UK to become known in Europe with games against Honved and Red Star in the 1950s, aT Molyneux under lights. FRom the Everton stand point, if Silva uses the close season as well as he used the 17 day break, things will be fine.

Wasn't a dig at Wolves (although I think they are still a 'barmy army' club, which is informative self-selection); more about Everton fans being happy with another team getting in ahead of us, whether it be Wolves, Leicester, Watford, Burnley or whoever!

Pretty sure that when Burnley got Europe last year, their best signings were Crouch and Vydra. Which confirms your point of course.

....they should all sign for Celtic.

7th off the cards now but think we should still be motivated vs spurs. The chance to add another victory against the top six in the close of this season would finish it on a big high.

Starting the season ludicrously early in an overblown, overhyped competition is not what we need at this time. I fully suspect Wolves to suffer, just like we did and Burnley did.

Also found myself not wanting to have to want the rs to beat wolves, in the last game - just so we could ruin next season. That would be unconscionable.

Better off leaving it for a push for top 4 and the European runners up league next season.
Wouldn't underestimate wolves, they own 20% of the agent George mendes company, there owners fosun are also massive
There owners have already said they will spend money again in the summer
