Seventh Place

I think it will largely come down to this weekend.

If Watford and Wolves lose and we win then that cancels out to an extent their game in hand (which I believe is against each other which we would hope ends a draw)

I expect Leicester to beat Newcastle comfortably at home however they still have City at the etihad & Arsenal and Chelsea left to play.

For me the only game we can realistically afford to lose is Spurs.

We have to get wins at Fulham, Palace and Burnley and imo take atleast 1 point against Utd.

Palace away is always tricky and the sort of game we normally slip up in

So it wont largely come down to this weekend then?

Well yeah we dont win this weekend I cant see us finishing 7th as its our easiest fixture considering Fulham are down.

If Watford and Wolves also pick up wins It becomes less likely we'll claw enough points as it puts big pressure on our game against Utd and EFC usually dont do well when the pressure is on!

To finish seventh we will need a lot of help and a lot of luck. I don't think anyone wants to help us( not intentionally at least ), and luck has never been kind to us in the past, so I doubt it will favour us now.

Yeah but to be fair nobody expected us to beat Chelsea, West Ham and Arsenal.

We are playing catch up, so every time we drop points it makes it harder, this weekends game wont determine anything mate, all we can is try and keep winning and hope the other 3 teams around us drop points and if we drop points, we have to hope they do. Its gonna be hard, all 4 teams are BANG in form, all 4 teams have hard and easy games to come.

Of course you would hope we put these Fulham jokes to the sword, but this weekend isnt winner takes all, nor is it loser loses.

9 or 10 points from our last 5 games will be needed .
Should get 6 against Fulham and Burnley.
Palace, United and spurs. Need to win of them then.
I'd expect us to beat Fulham and Burnley, although Burnley are much improved. Palace away I think we can scrape it. I'd like to see us have a really good go against Man Utd, after Chelsea and Arsenal at home.

I'm in the skip 7th so we don't play in the Europa league unless we use the Europa league to give the fringe players like James McCarthy, some youth to see how they do like Lewis Gibson etc. Also playing nearly every Sunday is absolutely awful, I hate it.

I think we can only afford to lose one game if we want 7th place, which would be Spurs away.

Fulham - 3 points
Man Utd - 1 point
Crystal Palace - 3 points
Burnley - 3 points
Spurs - 0 points

10 points should do it.

Much as I'd love European football back at Goodison I can't help but think it'd be best to miss out this year! The likes of Mina, Bernard, Gomes (please God he's still here!), and any new signings ( get them done early ideally!) would all benefit from a proper break then a full pre season and not having to trawl to the far reaches of Kazakhstan or Bulgaria in the middle of July in the 3rd pre qualifying round of the Europa League!
I think we are now starting to see the benefits of Bernard and Gomes finally being just about fit, and that a big part of Mina's problems are he's never been properly fit since the day he walked through the door!

Makes no difference these days to be honest. This season we've had 15 'weekend' games not on a Saturday, plus half a dozen or so in midweek/bank holidays, and a few either late or early on the saturday. Our last home Saturday 3pm kick off of the season was on 2nd Feb, with none of our last 6 home games being on a Saturday.

Name a side that isn't a top 6 side that has done well in the Europa league? The teams that do well in that are doing so because they are well set up anyway or come 5th and have easy run.
Limp to 7th and get in the back door, your following league season is dead.
The best thing to do is openly get kicked out first chance you get, but Everton fans don't want that, they want to have a drink with there mates in foreign cities, the actual football is second.
You only have to look at our away following singing in pubs and making out when have great away support, because that's what going the match is all about for many, it's not the 90 mimutes of football, it's everything else that happens.
FULHAM

I said we would come to rue that Newcastle game and was laughed at.

I think we'll do the following:

Fulham (a) - Win
Man Utd (h) - draw
Palace (a) - draw
Burnley (h) - win
Spurs (a) - loss

I think that will also be the average in terms of the sides around us so that extra 3 points from the newcastle game would have given us that vital scrape over the line.

Still can't believe we lost that game.

I think Wolves have been far more forward thinking than Burnley mate, they have quality all over the pitch, Burnley just don't. If I was a betting man, I would have Wolves battling for a Europe spot next season with us.. not a doubt in my mind.
What happens to Wolves when their manager leaves and Mendes sells 3-4 of the best players.
