Seventh Place

Don't think we will make 7th place this year...

But we will re-build & move on next season have more of a say in the premiership & the cup competitions...

Silva is building something here at goodison but it's going to take time...

Things are moving on again now & missing out on Europe at this stage of our transition will not do us any harm...

Next season however with more new signings & Silva now established I expect us to be challenging on all fronts including cementing a place in Europe...

No win tomorrow, no chance of 7th. Could be season over, could be a real boost if we win.

The position we finish in should be judged at the end of the season. For now just look to win every game and see where it takes us.

That was one game, out of all those Europe games there was one, but most of the rest of them were crap.
I want Everton to compete in every tournament we can. But if we had to sacrifice one it would definitely be the league cup. I’ve been to every final and replay we’ve played in it , and I’d like to see us win it ,but ultimately it’s not a truly major trophy and has no resonance outside of England. Until the semis it consists of sitting in windswept stadiums on winters nights while we grind out victories against the likes of Rotherham or Brentford. In truth once we’re eliminated I very rarely take any further interest in it. Added to that to have any realistic chance of winning it you have to be good enough to defeat a top 6 side anyway.
Like it or not the in hierarchy of success it’s the Champions League followed by the domestic title after that I would argue that the Europa is not that far behind the much devalued F. A. Cup.
We won’t be in European competition next season sadly , but I hope we return to it the following season whether it’s the Europa or not.

Not sure why you would want us to pass on the one cup were most like to win.
It's the one comp we need to target more then the others, just look at those sides City and Leicester put out.
Agree on which cup is the best, but it's the one we are more likely to win we have to prioritise.

I don't want Europe next season and if seventh gets Europe I don't want it.
We have seen with so many teams(including ourselves) how a Europa league campaign can disrupt a domestic season.
I would like us to continue for at least another season to build a team and squad that can function successfully on both fronts.
Well that’s a lie only 2 teams have performed really badly because of European football us and spurs I think or it may have been Newcastle

Name a side that isn't a top 6 side that has done well in the Europa league? The teams that do well in that are doing so because they are well set up anyway or come 5th and have easy run.
Limp to 7th and get in the back door, your following league season is dead.
The best thing to do is openly get kicked out first chance you get, but Everton fans don't want that, they want to have a drink with there mates in foreign cities, the actual football is second.
You only have to look at our away following singing in pubs and making out when have great away support, because that's what going the match is all about for many, it's not the 90 mimutes of football, it's everything else that happens.

Well its not about the footy or the days out for me, I dont go to aways and I would honestly rather not have to pay 20 notes every 2 weeks to watch us against FC Crapzola.

Its about the money.

Only that's not the case. The Team don't do worse in the league historically that get in as either 7th or worse. Burnley is one of the few examples. And honestly, it SHOULDN'T matter. Buy the right players, have a better team. We didn't suck last year due to the Europa league, we sucked because we bought the wrong players.

I really think you are selling FC Crapzola short. They play a lovely brand of footy. Sure, the away game might be a problem as their ultras love Hitler, crank, and box cutters, but hey, I'm sure invading their city center with 5,000 Blues and getting stupid will still be fun!
