A lot of fans have wanted this since moyes left.
The psychological scars Moyes left on this club are still being felt today. Ambition seems to be the dirtiest word.
I’m sorry that is so wrong. Whilst there was a mentality of ‘knife to a gun fight’, that was mainly against the Sky six, against any other club we were largely competitive as denoted by our league finishes. Yes,
Moyes was a little reserved, but this was largely driven by Kenwright’s Everton who commercially did not compete, and had no money so he had to make do with what he was given so financial resources we’re scarce. Reference was often made to us punching above our weight.
Prior to Kenrwrights Everton,
Moyes got Preston promoted from the third tier to the second and nearly saw them promoted to the PL, and since leaving us despite a torrid time with a couple of clubs, won West Ham their first silverware in ages, and had them regularly finishing in their best league positions for ages.
By the way, his scars were being felt in that first season, when we won 72 points and 5th place, and was it his fault that thr club then significantly regressed under Kenwright and latterly Moshiri? No. Ambition wasn’t a dirty word for Moyes, but it was for Kenwright which meant he would have to give up his influence on the club. Under any other owner, I believe Moues would have made us more competitive.
