Serious question as foreign supporter

Seriously mate WE, unlike them, like everybody. You get yourself to Goodison and you will get a warm welcome...as others before you have
Thanks and many of the comments in here are reassuring. I also have a better understanding of why people get on them for the foreign support now. I have to get to Goodison before the stadium move. I have been to the original Tiger stadium that opened in 1912 and would love to get to Goodison to say I have also been to one of the oldest still used grounds on the planet. Glad to be a blue but my God can we get this whole mess with the manager and team resolved so we can start going in the proper direction.

There's an inverted snobbery to it but if you're not born within sight of Paddy's Wigwam (or summat like that), you're considered an outsider and not entitled to be a proper fan. I mean; it's not as if we want success or wider appeal and become a global brand or anything. No, it's our little Everton and nobody else's...

Joking aside, anyone who is Evertonian despite their birth location is especially welcome. In fact, we (yep I'm one too) deserve an extra medal for having to put up with the "you're not a scouser so WHY on earth do you follow them?" earache all the time.

Now, when it comes to the RS, we quite rightly deride them for their Norwegian fans, etc. Which may a double standard but the proper thing to do - and for which not one Allardyce is given....

I am not from Liverpool, I'm not even form England and I have never questioned my right to be a fan of Everton FC. I can honestly say the only thing that has caused my support to waver in over 50 years is the appointment of Fat Sam. Close encounters with relegation were low points but my resolve stayed strong however when those inside the club felt it was OK to appoint the likes of Fat Sam I have begun to think, maybe Everton aren't different, maybe all the good work that is done in the community and for less fortunate fans is merely window dressing and we will associate ourselves with the likes of FS in the race to be mediocre.

I totally get that thought process. I have a hard time believing a billionaire would be ok with mediocre but then they did appoint Allardyce. I think the biggest reason I want to see the guy gone is because it screams lack of ambition if he is supposed to stay. High quality players are not going to want to come to this awesome club to play hoof ball.

There is a big difference in the fact some foreign fans get derided is more for the fickleness of their support..turning yo to liverpool to watch a game just to say they have done the experience and spend all game with their camera out..taking no interest in the club it’s traditions even the scouse Liverpool fans hate them it’s an ongoing issue for their fan base etc..the fact that your even on here shows your a proper fan.. then Norway issue is because half th country seems to support them and turn up on mass every home game which is fair enough but for a club and fans who like to tel their world of their own special scouseness is laughable

I totally get it now. It's like for me being a Broncos fan and we had Tebow as QB. I never had a major problem with the guy but we got this massive influx of fans of him that then talked mad trash about John Elway because he wasn't immediately the starter. If you're going to be a Bronco fan you don't ever do that because you understand the history of our team and organization. So this all makes more sense to me and feel even better about supporting Everton. Thanks to all of you.

get out while you can mate,
i wont even take my daughter to stop her putting her through all the trauma iv been through!
I'm from Walton as well!
I'm genuinely think we are jinxed,we cant even fluke a derby.

I totally get it now.

You go to Liverpool, and they find out you support Everton, you'd have no problems at all mate. Social media and forums are certainly not to be used in terms of judging how a fanbase actually is. I'd take these type of posts with a pinch of salt. Every single one of them.

As a Brit who lives in America, it pains me to see how little the club does to acknowledge our fan base outside of the UK, even outside the North West - there are so many American Evertonians. I've seen random blokes in Everton shirts all over America, never see people in Liverpool kits, or Spurs or Chelsea though. Man Utd is the only other shirt you see people wearing here. Begs the question why Everton rarely come over here for preseason and embrace their American fan base. One of my best mates over here, he's from Atlanta down in Georgia. Biggest Evertonian you'll ever meet, supported them before I met him which is how we hit it off. Gets up at 8/9 am every weekend to watch the games, has all the gear. Understands the game better than some lids back home. No one would forgive people like him for biffing Everton off and following Man City or any of the big clubs, at least he'd get to see them live given all these clubs come over every preseason, get to buy the gear in shops over here. Everton might as well not exist to anyone outside the UK. Sad
