Everton manager David Moyes is hoping to recruit Espanyol full-back Sergio Sanchez but Sevilla and Valencia are also in the hunt. (Daily Mirror)

Sergio Sánchez Ortega (born April 3, 1986 in Mataró, Catalonia) is a Spanish footballer currently playing as a defender for RCD Espanyol (right or central).

Football career
A product of RCD Espanyol's youth system, Sánchez made his debut for the first team on April 24, 2005, playing 75 minutes from the bench in a 3–1 home win against Real Zaragoza (his sole appearance of that season).

In January 2007, he was loaned to second division's Real Madrid Castilla and, at the end of the season, was loaned again, to La Liga Racing de Santander, where he appeared significantly as the side from Cantabria achieved a first ever UEFA Cup qualification.

In July 2008, Sánchez returned to Espanyol, netting his first goal for the Catalan side, in a 1–1 home draw with Getafe CF, on September 20. He played the entire season on the right flank, as the club eventually avoided relegation.

Does it get your approval? If so, I let Moyes know he can go ahead with this deal.:D

We are going after him at the moment, but if "Kyle Naughton" sign for us, I doubt we would be signing him as well. Remember we do have Neville, Hibbert and Coleman who could play in this position already.
