There was a cross from de Bruyne 10 minutes before across the 6 yard box and the the last defender cleared it. Had he miskicked, Lukaku would have had a tap in, but did not get his feet into a position to take advantage if the defender did miss it, just as in that incident at the end of the half, and it would probably have bounced off his shins, because he does not take that gamble that a truly predatory striker would have.
It's an instinct that can't be coached.

I'm not knocking him, and wish we still had him, but it is one of a couple of flaws that stop him being one of the top few strikers in the world.
