Exactly. And getting rid of them must be so hard.
We don’t want them. We can be pretty sure nobody else does either.
I'd 2 week wage fine them until they begged for mercy to leave on a free if this was football manager.
Sadly it's not. And the previous regime dished out absurdly generous contracts to aging players who didn't deserve a quarter of what they got. Realistically these guys will probably be content to take the mega bucks rather than take a pay cut to play every week somewhere. I'd happily see them leave for free. It's probably worth it too to at least get their wages off our payroll.

Someone at Board level authorised the transfer fees and wages, not Koeman or Walsh. We are stuck with some players until they leave at the end of their contract. No way out of this for the club. It will take some time, years probably, before the top four can be challenged.

And still 95 percent of the deadwood yet to w shifted

It was always going to be tough shifting the useless players, but it’s worrying to see last year we splashed out 45m on one player and this year we are refusing to pay half of that for tierney!

We have still got 34 players on our list.
We will no doubt sign a couple of players.
No need to panic. The money is there, its just it looks as if caution and other priorities (clear outs, world cups etc) are in the way.
Plus we finished 8th playing some indescribable type of style. Organic fixes will occur.
