The seat i got had not been reconditioned in anyway. There was damage to it where the fixings were though. That was at the rear of the backrest, so you can't see that in the box. The hinge hardware was also damaged but from a cursory glance you wouldn't say so.

Just got my wooden set delivered and the number has been painted over too.
I’m not a ST holder so it’s not ‘my seat’.
I don’t remember any wooden seats without the painted numbers in the ground?
Got my seat 2 days ago (wooden) no. 128. Would have been nice if they told us what stand the seat came from.
Nice presentation box with certificate of authentication. The number disc is painted over but can see number and has the white number stencilled on.

Not sure why the number has been painted over, but I don’t think they’ve done it after removal because the paint definitely isn’t fresh.
You can faintly see the old white number behind the paint though.
I also reckon it’s from the main stand because of the curved back piece.

Definitely main stand or top balcony.
You're right, lower bullens which was the only other place with the wooden seats had straight back pieces.
There's no difference between the top balcony and main stand wooden seats themselves, but they were attached differently. The main stand ones had a metal frame that fixed onto the level above, whereas the top balcony ones had the frame that went down to where your feet are
We sat in main stand and our seats were wooden. Numbers still on them.

Seat FINALLY arrived and very disappointed that the number has been painted over. Other than that it’s great and it’s a nice box but it’s missing that number which was half of the character of the seat!
S/T holders who bought their seat have their name on the certificate along with the name of the stand, the row and seat number.
