2023/24 Sean Dyche

Yeah, he had us playing really well for a while. Start of the season, performances were good without results. Then during that 4 match spell around the deduction we looked really good. Which surprised me based on last season under him.

Since then, including some of our wins recently, it’s been dire performance wise. And no wins is 4 months should always be unacceptable.

What’s your point?

….its impossible to divorce off-field shambles and points deduction with on-field performance.

Posters were generally fine with the way we were playing until the points deduction, ownership, Board and financial mess kicked in. As Rooney recently said, it’s immensely difficult managing a football team with a points deduction.

Posters were fine with the way we were playing because it was half decent football.

But it hasn’t been anywhere near decent football for like half a season so regardless of all the things going on, of course fans/posters get fed up of watching it. And rightly so, as people put a lot of money, time and emotional weight on the club/team.

….glad you agree, we were ‘playing half decent football’ before the deductions and off-field mess so significantly impacted the players and fans ;). Dyche can get a tune out of this squad, imagine if he had more quality at his disposal.

Still don’t know what your point is with vaulting me.

I never said we didn’t play half decent football just that for large swathes of the season it was dire. And I am accurate in that assessment.

No ones denying the winless streak was awful, one thing is true though, the winless run under Dyche was far less damaging than our winless run under Tory Frank

1-0 West Ham, 1-2 southampton and 3-0 Palace are the only league games we won under tory boy in 22/23 right?
Lampard is an awful manager who had a lot to deal with here

Dyche is a slightly less awful manager who has had even more to deal with here and who has dealt with the off field stuff well.

The Luton and Sheffield games have shown we aren’t going to go into next season playing decent football which we have us a boring season of safety early. It will still be percentage football relying on set pieces. We will still struggle against the teams we should reliably be beating.
