The only reason clubs accept severely limited managers like Dyche is because they somehow manage to punch above their weight by getting the best out of limited players.

I see absolutely zero evidence that this guy is getting the best out of anyone. It's turgid.

How did anybody think Dyche was going to suddenly become a good manager? Same people who think that DLC rediscover his half season fluke 'form', and that Deli Alli is ever going to be a worthwhile footballer again, I'd imagine.

I never wanted him, but to be fair I don’t think many thought he’d turn good, just that he’d get us doing the Burnley basics right and help us become a boring, but effective team who are “hard to beat”.

Turns out we do the basics badly and are pretty easy to beat. Given the understood lack of upside to his appointment, his leash SHOULD be far shorter than his predecessors and the ice should be very thin, already.

As we know, though, it won’t be. If I was a gambling man, I’d say 31st Jan again.

The victory over Arsenal last year was what I thought we’d get from him. Today was utterly disgraceful. Arsenal obviously a better team but the team looked disinterested, no real plan with the ball and open as anything.

Take that freak result against Brighton out and it’s been horrendous since he came in really.

I was all for Dyche but again - he’s just another manager like Lampard, like Benitez who just can’t get enough points on the board and ultimately doesn’t seem good enough to do the job needed - and god knows we aren’t asking for much this season.

His midfield is killing him. Onana, Gana and Doucoure dont work.

He needs to go with Onana and Garner in the middle. Tell Onana it's his responsibility to sit deep, tell Garner to try and find an option going forward. Do that, and with Harrison on one wing and a fit (he was well off his game) McNeil on the other, feeding into Beto/Calvert-Lewin and we might have a chance.

Issue is we've not got the numbers so it feels like Gana or Doucoure have to play and ladies and gentlemen, they're absolutely awful.

For me, Dyche is killing Onana's game too.

Look, none of us expected to win this today.

What we hoped for was to see the team look like it is capable of playing the ball forward enough to generate a few chances we might possibly look like we could score from and to not get thrashed.

It's not a high bar. Yes, we didn't get battered. We also didn't look like we could play five passes together and had any sort of attacking intent or plan.

I'm seeing nothing beyond a low block.
