2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

I think there's two schools of thought at play in this thread:

School 1/ Be safe; stay up; football style and going for the win more often is secondary.

School 2/ Play more adventurously; we have the players to do that; survival will occur because 'fortune favour's the brave' etc

I'm firmly in the former school of thought. Yes, I want to see us knocking it about to feet more often and getting more wins, but we dont have the players yet to make that a no brainer in terms of adopting it as a style of play. And if we take the stabilisers off and go for more momentum and it goes sideways then we've gambled the whole club away.

I agree but we are not playing with “stabilisers” on … we are playing with a don’t leave your home because we could be murdered mentality.

Giving teams the ball and sitting on the edge of your own box for 2/3rds of the game is not “safe “ “stay up “ football … it’s I don’t know any other way of playing from dyche.

You make a good point about us not having the best attacking players to play attacking football in the final 3rd ….

Question ?

Do you think relying on a defence that includes a 39 year old full back that gets skinned every week and a cb ( Keane) that cannot head and defend crosses and switches off in the box and loses his man on a weekly basis… should be relied upon for us to survive in the league?

I would argue that we don’t have the players to defend all game as we are likely to concede whenever two of those two play.

He had doucs at number 10 mate… one of the most useless footballers in the league … playing in what is meant to be the most creative area of the pitch…

He was saying … and not for the first time this season, how good Keane has been this season and it was hard to drop him for Jarrod last week… that is utter madness if he even slightly thinks or believes that to be true .

Aiming for 17th every season will eventually have consequences. You leave yourself no room to fall short, and all of your competitors are looking to push on. Anyway I suspect Dyche will not be here come the next international break and the Friedkins will have their man on standby.

I am in sales which is very target and outcome based.

The best mentor/ trainer I had said something to me that really effected the way I approached everything and it worked.

When moving onto commsion only pay.. I was working out how many sales a year I needed to survive , pay bills etc.

It worked out at around 6-7 sales a year. ( real estate)

He said that if you know your low number , it will form bad habits as when you think like that your mind will subconsciously settle for poor results and behaviours as long as you are meeting the target or are on track.

He was right, he then asked where I wanted to be and I said 40 sales a year. We put together a plan and sechdule and tasks and review dates and I will not hit 40 this year … but I hit 36.

If dyche is aiming for 4 points or 1.1 points a game for example … after a win he can afford not to gat any from the next 2 and still be on track … or he can not attack for the next 2 and if he gets even one draw he is “ahead”

Having low standards is infectious and is basically a “loser” or in his case “ don’t lose the game” mentality… and if his targets are based on getting 40 points or finishing 17th…

We can easily fail… other teams can get more than 40 points…. Injuries can effect games, referees , constant mind numbing football will have an effect on players and them “buying into” the strategy , the fans will get fed up and eventually turn , which effects the players on match day and can actually help the opposition.

I’m not saying he should be doing what bobby brown shoes and kompany were doing at Wigan and burnley and expect players like Titus bramble to pass the ball around like prime benkenbaur … but chaining your full back to the corner flag and having your wingers playing as full back while playing defensive midfleilders as number 10’s is taking safety first to the extreme and shows how limited and clueless he actual is

Suggesting someone who only signed up yesterday is a kopite after only signing up yesterday themselves, talking about the days of kipper, firmly backing Sean Dyche, pointing out they are new here, and saying they don’t know what you are on about when asking their previous user name.

It’s a bold strategy, interested to see if it pays off.
I' am sure Mods can check my IP
I've never been on here previously.

But meh believe me or not

I beginning to wonder some of you lot are on the wind up. Not sure that there is anything more than that.

"the gaffer". Really?

"He's doing the best he can with the resourses available". Really ? Don't make me laugh. Honestly. I think you're hilarious.

GOT gone downhill since it started letting in these WUMS. It's your choice GOT. I'm going to come on less and less. You lot! Hilarious.
Who would have done a better job with hands tied behind him. Players sold for a profit but nothing invested in to the playing squad.
Having to play Youngy. As we have no other full backs fit.

Only Allardyce or Pulis could get a song out of these players and play to their strength like Dyche has.

We could have prime Baines and Coleman fit and this guy would still find a way to play young.

Are we ignoring the circa £100m that’s been spent since he has been here then?

Selling Onana made sense, considering Dyche didn’t really trust him and used him mainly as a sub in the back half of last year.

That buys you one Brnathwaite
The £1m we spent on branthwaite buys us a branthwaite.

We aren’t competing for Europe, or in the top 4/5 so we aren’t looking to buy players for £70m so it’s a bit of a ridiculous comparison on your part. We can buy players for a lot less than that that will manage mid table. Meaning that £50m from selling Onana goes a lot further.
