2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Think the counter attack today showed why we don't do well in open play.
I'm not sure I follow exactly but the counter attack has always been bad. Saying we're a sit back and counter team is wrong. We should be, and in a world where Dyche was capable of doing the entire job of managing the team we might be, however we sadly are not. We do not break. We regularly turn down opportunities too. There is no system or identity in that regard.

This is how much of a joke club we've turned into. The media consider us absolute nobodies.

The Guardian:
For all City’s woes, the result continues a terrific run of results for Everton, who in the last three weeks have avoided defeat against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and City. This is what it does to the Premier League table.

Ability to avoid defeat is now described almost using superlatives.

Let's get a manager in that tries to win football matches. 2 of these 3 games were there for the taking and should have been (given the chances we missed) won. Instead, 3 points not 7.

Our attack out wide are 2 loans, £15mill Ndiaye, £20mill McNeil (been playing as a 10).

Doesn't scream goals goals goals.

I'm not sure what posters expect from a team that has 1 effective starter (Ndiaye) out of 3 attacking players behind the forward.

Im very happy to setup the way we did vs Wolves and also to setup the way we have the past 3 games.

If we added talent to replace Doucoure and Harrison -- that have end product we'd be a feared team.

Sides can barely score against us yet we can create great chances.

I was publicly confident! Check the vaults 😂

Its like people on here have never watched Everton before

I predicted wed get 4pts from Chelsea and City and we should have done if we Harrison had finished in both games.

Many posters see that, but at the same time are wanting us to sign a central midfielder who had 0 successful tackles, 0 successful headers and 2/6 successful duels.

Were Everton football club whose best central midfielders can put in and win tackles.

Many posters hate Dyche and want a front foot approach with midfielders that cant defend.

I would happily watch the football weve seen the past 4 games once we sign superior players.

Style of play means nothing if were winning games.

Typically he does well when the pressure is on.

Today and Thursday 6pts.
You predicted 6 points. We got 2 😂

Well, we don't have the pace to counter successfully. As for an identity, we're almost like a poor man's Simeone type side who sit deep, work hard, and absorb pressure before being direct. The issue has also been capitalising on what we do after we go direct and get the ball in good areas.

You'll see in the vast majority of games we eventually get into good areas but the players make the wrong decisions. I point out today because it was a perfect example of it.

Yes our defensive set up is whaty keeps us up. Without the keeper and our decent centre-half partnership we'd be doomed. It's not football for me.
Jep, I do think our gk/cb are easily top half, and the front line bottom 5. doesn‘t help when you have a manager that sets up defensively either.

I think our best front 4 atm would be Broja - McNeil, Ndiaye, Lindström.

But not really the best one for me

Why is everyone doing mentality monster today?

@davek is my comrade, he sees the bigger picture so was happy to free hit this. But our staunch leader Dyche turned water into wine.

One point extra to the Everton #ThankYouGaffer
When you say “free hit”, you obviously mean throw the towel in and cower in the corner waving a white flag.

It’s easy to get those mixed up.

My argument is don't be so reactive and resort to insults when questioned on it .
When people said keep him a month ago they were idiotic morons. Now they ain't. In simple terms don’t be a moron and not expect to be questioned when you are ..
Err….you have just asked him not to resort to insults yet you have inferred that he’s been a moron?
