Since Branthwaite had returned Keane has been third choice centreback. Can try and spin it anyway you want but given a whole season’s evidence Dyche was playing every single other defender in the squad over Keane when given the opportunity. He was our least used defender. Branthwaite has been fit for one game this season and he was straight back in ahead of Keane.

Dyche is not desperate to play Keane, on the contrary he’s not in his first choice pairing. If Branthwaite had started this season fully fit Keane might not have even played a minute in the league yet.
