A half fit Seamus Coleman is a wasted space on the bench. He should only be started this season IF fully fit and IF Patterson is not available. If Patterson is available he should only be on the bench IF fully fit. We really, really needed to sort out right back in the transfer window - imagine buying Jake O'Brien when you've already got two established starting centre halves but have three appalling right backs and a crap set of wingers.
The actual last thing Dyche wants is Dixon coming in and making him look stupid. He would rather sacrifice points than be seen to have got something wrong. Young is starting tomorrow.
I'm aware how stubborn Dyche is Mike, I'm suggesting Dixon should be playing whilst fully realising he more than likely won't.

Yes I would. Again he is an Everton player. If Keane was out there would only be 2 fit cbs in the squad and probably 2 keepers on the bench again considering Branthwaithe is only just back
Branthwaite will almost certainly leave next summer, O Brien should then be able to slot into that position.
Everybody seems to want us to get a right back but I think we may already have a young player in Dixon that we should be trying to develop rather than pushing further back behind a new signing.
He deserves at least the opportunity to show what he can do over a run of games. His pace alone gives us a new dimension- that we know already.
No shock to read that his injury is worse than first feared.

Coleman and Young also have a lot to learn defensively.
Oh I'm not suggesting that either of those two should be anywhere close to the team.
Why? He’s just a footballer that plays for us. He’s a paid employee, he doesn’t play for free. Why should we hold him to different standards than the other players?
