I have no issue with this. Experienced back-up for when we bring in a first choice right back. Plus he has been a great servant and I think is actually a good club captain.

Whoever we bring in as first choice RB, Seamus will be head and shoulders above the rest as back up.. JJK, Holgate and even Godfrey are all worse options there so ive no issue with him being there as cover.
Sell Holgate and Jonjoe asap

Being better as a right back than JJK and a pair of centre halves is not enough of a qualification. I get keeping him for the final year of his contract but what is the logic in extending the contract of an already fading player for a further year.

While you’re right to an extent The key is a right back coming in , keeping him as first choice would be a concern though .

We’ve needed a RB since Brands arrived that’s 3 years! He can have the odd good game granted, but his consistency has gone and he has more poor games than good.

I havent said at any point we dont need a new RB, I just think Coleman is alright, as back up and feel as tho he contributed fine last season, as did Holgate and Godfrey, but we 100% need a more attacking player.

A years extension is fine as long as he’s not first choice anymore. Love Seamus, but hes lost a yard of pace and it shows.

He has signed 3 players. He's knackered poor fella. Now a contract extension for Coleman is his idea of fixing right back issue. Hes earned another year off

We did 3 years ago, he didn’t set foot on a football pitch for us in the time between that and him leaving the club. Money well spent if you ask me.

Still could have given him another 5 years and a testimonial
