He still managed to win 2 out of the 4 games against celtic as Manager but it's as a player that he's fondly remembered.
Here's a wee reminder... Remember to take the blood pressure meds before watching!

He also managed to lose against Malmo, when the club, or was it the operating company?, desperately needed the cash. This helped lead to the liquidation of Rangers 1872-2012. It's for this Ally will be fondly remembered by Celtic supporters.

In fairness to him, he did lead the plucky newco to third place in the second tier of Scottish football before he was placed on gardening leave, and given the golden welly.

P.S. I wonder if Ally ever ponders on how many of the fans who now call him Super Ally where part of the tens of thousands who sang "Ally, Ally, get tae Fleck" to him?

To add to my last post, I don’t think quantity is the only factor. Certainly if Hearts get a good team going then Tynecastle is a potent venue even for Rangers and Celtic to visit. Hearts have been a bit of a shambles since 2015/16 but even since then they made life difficult for the big two. I think now that they’re clear of the Levein era and back up, and in good form the club will really start to take off. We’ll average crowds of 17/18,000 this season. The best signing the club has made recently is Sporting Director, Joe Savage. Things are looking good. Just need to beat Hibs on Sunday.

Celtic will probably have over fifty thousand season ticket holders, and TRIFC will have in the high forty thousands. That is some difference from seventeen to eighteen thousand.

Edinburgh is a very middle-class city and the vast majority of the middle-classes have no interest in Hearts or Hibs. Very broadly speaking, Hibs draw their support from the north and east of the city. Hearts from the more expansive west of the city and southern out-lying areas including Midlothian. Hearts also have a substantial following in West Lothian and even parts of Fife. Hibs core support is probably more localised.
Hibs...the peoples club?

Big Derby game on Sunday and I think for once there will be more than a passing interest from OF supporters hoping for a draw.
I just hope the current top two clubs in Scottish league football put on a good show and may the best team win.

You mean like the way the Celtic fans did it to Lennon?
Hope you enjoyed the video anyway.

I remember going to Tynecastle towards the late 90s when you had a decent side coming 3rd and it being bedlam. You lot are up and down though, either 3rd best in the country or pish. Hibs are more consistent.

Remember when you lot tried to buy Hibs?

Good signing for Hearts.

To be honest i've always seen Hearts as a bigger and more successful club than Hibs. They are the Edinburgh club, with the most heritage and tradition. It took Hibs about 10 losing attempts in finals, to win a first Scottish Cup since 1902.

Indeed. For Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen to mount a league challenge you need Leicester City 2016 conditions; a dream season with the bot the big guns faltering. Highly unlikely but not completely impossible.
