Still very poor today, the Celts

3 points is nice, but god, they make hard work of it

We've been really poor this season. TRIFC have been excellent so far this season, but they don't have many players who have won much, apart from McGregor and Davis.

If Celtic could put a run of wins together we'd see how TRIFC players react under pressure, they could get the jitters, but Celtic just don't seem to have what it takes to put them under that pressure.

If Celtic were smart they'd play the long game here and realise the 10 is gone, so instead make plans now to replace Lennon in the summer with a new manager who will get time to build a new squad over a couple of seasons with the money they've stowed away from the past decade

The entitled segment of the Celtic support won't like it, but chasing instant satisfaction is what caused Rangers to fall behind to begin with, dating all the way back to McCoist spending silly money on journeymen when they were down in the 4th tier instead of investing in youth

Let's face it, a big reason why Rangers are winning now is more down to Celtic taking their foot off the peddle more than Rangers actually being that good. They've had some impressive results this season, but they are the same results you would have expected Rodgers' Celtic to have gotten a couple of seasons back. Rangers have improved somewhat, but Celtic have also regressed, and the combination of those two factors is why (Barring the biggest bottle job in footballing history) Rangers will be raising the flag next season (Likely with a full Ibrox if the vaccine works as we all hope it will)

Rangers have given Celtic a template on what NOT to do when your era ends, and they would do well to learn from it whilst there's still time

Maybe the Celtic directors are worried if they appoint a new manager and TRIFC win the title, which they look certainties to do, the new manager will go down as the man who lost the 10 blah blah blah?

If they see this season out and TRIFC win the title, there will be a lot of fans not renewing due to unhappiness with the Celtic board. If Celtic appoint a new manager in the summer, there will be a bit of optimism about the place and more fans might renew their season book?

They should accept this season is gone and replace Lennon in the summer, giving the new manager time to get something going, even if it means Rangers win another

Play the long game

Meanwhile, in the nether reaches of Scottish Football , down in the Highland League I got to watch my first live game for 9 months , Rothes v Buckie Thistle thanks to a mate in Rothes getting me a ticket . And despite Rothes being 1-0 up at half time the Jags came storming back in the second half to win 5-1 . Home in time to watch Everton v Arsenal kick off so a great afternoon/ evening , nothing beats watching live football , sadly it may be my last for a while with the latest COVID stuff.

Never.
Celtic PR mode of how many the rangers have sold will kick in.
Been done before.
