I don't like the man on a personal level. But i think the main thing is putting an end to Celtics dominance, of the footballing scene in Scotland.Even if it means satan himself as Rangers manager, then so be it.I think complacency and trying to maintain their dominance on a shoestring budget, could very well be Celtics undoing.
As I think has made clear, I can't stand the fella!
I haven't followed it enough. There's still a logn way to go this season mind, 3 old firm derbuies and if Celtic win the game in hand and win those derbies they are 4 clear. Rangers had a bit of a blink last season, so still plenty to go.
Eventually Rangers were always going to compete, it's taken a lot of time but it doesn't come as an enormous surprise. What both need to do (and it seems more Celtic) is probably stop so many young Scottish lads leaving. I saw 2 or 3 go to Bayern and Ranges have lost Gilmour (who looks a great talent). I'm not sure how they resolve that, but maybe Brexit helps (as it's harder to sign players back and forth in the way it was previously). Independence may help too with preventing English clubs doing it. While it will probably good for Scotland (not your concern as your Irish I know) you feel Scottish football needs to keep players like that, even for just a short period, when they can move them on for decent fees.
Either way, Rangers look good currently, but there's still a long way to go.
