Hes a big Oldham fan, i think if he was to leave Utd he would go to them for his swan song.

This last bit was what I was gonna say, Scholes has said for years that when he leaves United it will be to go to his favourite team Oldham, which seemed a bit odd when I read it coz United had just won the treble and Oldham...well....yano....

He did say he'd go to Oldham , and for me , Id pay his tram fare to Failsworth . Fuk this love-in with the Mancs . They take our quality and give us their cast-offs . Sack it . Scholes was boss 3-4 years ago , now hes a passenger . He knows it . We know it .
Sign a fukn 23 year old and give him Scholes' dough .

Too right.

LOL if he goes to Oldham. Can't stand the man to be honest.

I honestly don't think we would have to accommodate him to be honest. He nowhere near as good as he was and not Manchester Utd quality but I think he's still perfectly capable - especially as backup to Mikel Arteta.

His only problem is fitness, he only lasts about 70-75 minutes but he can still give you a fantastic 70 minutes where he bosses things. It's not like his game was ever based around his pace and his positioning and creative qualities more than make up for it.

The fact of the matter is we have one player who can control a game and dictate in our whole squad, Mikel Arteta. The rest of our centre midfielders don't take responsibility (on the ball) and just keep it moving. At Home especially we'll be found out by better teams, if Arteta isn't playing.

There isn't much quality there, it's quite ordinary to be honest. Obviously I'd prefer a Moutinho but we don't really have the finances to sign a player like this and strengthen in other areas.

Paul Scholes, as a short term option, would be a great signing in my opinion. And it'd give us a chance to spend money in other areas like right back and on the wings.

It's taken you along time to accept that then.

I still have hope, God knows why, but I still dream about him coming. It was love at first sight for me. Finally a player I could dream about. I will sound like Bill here, but he really is an Everton type player. Hes hard working and he gives 100% every game. Plus he has talent, a lot of talent.

But ive known for a while he isnt coming. Doesnt mean I will ever accept it tho. We should be signing players like Moutinho, but Bill crys blue, so its all ok.

No mate, we cant afford him. But it doesnt mean we should be signing 34 year old has beens.

Of course it does. :dodgy:

Why would he leave sitting on the bench for United, for sitting on the bench at Everton? He wouldn't get in over either Arteta or Neville, it would be a pointless signing.

3 years ago - I would have bit your hand off.

Because he wouldn't have the likes Anderson, Michael Carrick, Owen Hargreaves, Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs competing with him at Everton.

Just Arteta, the young but raw Rodwell and a few half decent stop gaps. We need options at the end of the day, it's always handy to have more than one centre midfielder who can pass further than 10 yards.
