Schneiderlin's Ambition

Agree. He, hopefully, will end up as being part of a terrific midfield fulcrum, that lets the game changers, er, change games.

Weigh in with a few himself, but I am confident he will have a very good Everton career.

Think thats fair, and about right at this moment in time.
You can only base your assessment on what you've seen on the pitch and the performances of the team in general. Both have been very positive since Morgan joined the club, I don't think it's been a coincidence.

Slight overstatement. I think most outsiders raised an eyebrow that he was released by United as he'd done nothing much wrong. But that's a far cry from being one of the best midfielders in the league. That's a conceit that's shared by many Evertonians but no one much besides. I just dont get it. I dont get the OTT appraisal. And I notice that when he puts in a turd performance the embarrassment is palpable so no one much pulls him up on it.

We're Everton, we're not Bournemouth. Someone cant just tip up and play a dozen matches in order to be called "great". He has a long, long way to step into the company of some of the midfielders who've played for Everton.

I was talking about when he left Saints to go united mate, as my point was directly referencing your evaluation of him doing well only rather than a lot better

My argument was that we needed strengthening desperately elsewhere and that centre midfield was well catered for and not a priority. And that was true.

Can't believe you're still trying to get that chicken to fight. Centre midfield was not well catered for and was clearly a priority. For example, had we not signed Schneiderlin, who would be playing in the midfield instead?

We have Barry, Gueye and Davies who vie for two positions, and Barkley who can come in and play there too. That would be more than enough to get by on even without McCarthy or Schneiderlin. The January window was crying out for firepower up front and certainly a more creative force in behind Lukaku. It was a HUGE gamble that Lukaku remained fit with half the season to come. It's one that has come off, but it was an enormous danger to the club that we were left exposed to that.

Let's not rewrite history. THEY were the facts on the ground at the time of the January window. Schneidlerin playing well and Lukaau keeping fit doesn't change those facts.

We'd have been fine mate, don't know why you're so negative ;).

Barry who is pretty much finished. Davies, Gueye and Barkley are all already playing every week in Koeman's favoured formation. McCarthy is injured. So, again, who would play in Schneiderlin's position had we not signed him?
