Other than longs goal that and the rest of pre season has be forgettable.
Suppose we have learnd about one or two kids but we seemed totally out of sorts and fragile at the back and toothless going forward so lets just hope bobby has it down as a learning exercise and we move onwards and upwards

Totally agree. The players are not sharp enough to kill the ball and lay it off. They're are invariably losing the ball when pressed and are reverting to long balls. Today should have been about the 11 who will be starting next Saturday (christ, that wasn't it was it!?).

embarrassing, awful performance. Very worrying considering we play are next match in 7 days. Lukaku and Mirallas won't be fit, same with Coleman. Defence has been dire. Hope we up our game especially considering we have Arsenal and Chelsea visiting Goodison next.
 

Losing games like this is never good. On the other hand, we don't know if there was something specific we were working on, or if the main aim of pre season was blooding youngsters. I imagine the Leicester game will shape up something like this, and which should be more than enough to beat them

please remember also that martinez inherited last seasons pre season from moyes, it was already planned before he arrived
 
Im not overly concern with our results during preseason, but we havent looked very bright, that I must admit. We dont look fit nor sharp which is concerning considering the start of the season is next week. But if we where to take a positive out of this preseason is that Roberto must have a very clear idea of where we need strengthening to compete domestically and europe. Hibbert just doesnt fit the way we play plus he is past it, it should be Stones or Browning covering Coleman, maybe even Oviedo if and when he comes back from injury. We also need another striker even if Kone was to comeback to full fitness, and we need another winger (Hopefully rumors about Atsu signing are true).

Oh and Besic looks class, not only is he good on the tackle but he his passing range and ball control is great, plus he can drive the ball forward. Bargain of the season.
