Sanchez absent on drug test

Bit of a non-story this. You're allowed two missed tests before you get pinged. Given that he was moving clubs on the day they wanted to test him it's not that surprising he wasn't at his whereabout location.

To be honest I can’t believe there isn’t a drugs issue in football. Every other major sport has had issues with it. Footballers are some of the thickest most vice ridden people yet amazingly not one of them has ever taken performance enhancers (apparently). 100s of millions are flowing round the game yet not one of these money grabbing agents, clubs, or players has ever tried to get a competitive edge.

I just don’t believe it.

Genuinely wish some of our current crop got juiced right up. Anything to get a performance out of them.

You can get away with it sometimes can't you?

Didn't Mo Farah just say he couldn't hear them knocking on his door to get off with missing one once?

I assume IAAF testing and USATF testing are similar; I remember a Baylor coach recounting the testing that Michael Johnson underwent... the testers watch you provide the sample... and they come first thing in the morning too.

So many of them they get paid extraordinary amounts for playing in leagues where the majority do not actually win anything. It's not like other competitive sports such as athletics where individual success is one of the only ways to gain actual large amounts of money.

It's simply not worth it for most footballers as the financial rewards they can gain are more than enough without them.

They’re the same population of people who literally only have to stay fit for about 15 years yet still smoke, drink, and eat takeaways. Lots of them have a gambling problem, lots of them can’t stay faithful, but all of them are seemingly immune to the allure of drugs. Miraculous.
