Eto'o leaving is just a sign of things to come. We overspent, gambled and failed. If we finish in the bottom half expect a couple of decent players to be sold.

The only thing that can save this season is winning the Europa, otherwise we're back to square one and will be back to a negative net transfer budget.
We got him on a free, always played well when played in position, was a fantastic leader, our young players especially Lukaku would have learnt a lot from him.

He was oh around 60k a week whilst it made him one of the highest earners at the club but that's really not that much for a player of his calibre and considering his previous contracts.

He wants to leave for personal reasons, we're not shipping him off or try and make up some cash, we wouldn't even be selling him if he told Sampdoria he wants to stay.
