Gave up 100k a week at Ajax to stay in PL.. highest earner at the club is on 70k so can't imagine the board paying more for a back up. There not silly, esp when come to Bill's bills...

Set up same as Saha i'd imagine .. all bonus's are massive so performances count. This is a Top 5 Premier League club were talking about here.

I think we'll be paying him just over half of that myself. Around £70k, which for us is obviously a lot of money. I don't know that but it'll have to be substantial - any less than £50k and you're talking about the most incredible drop in earnings from a top player in Premier League history.

I agree.

No way are we paying him more than we pay Lukaku, it just wouldnt be prudent.

Not bad for free tho. :hayee:

The thing is we've got Lukaku as our number 1, our big signing to join our developing team of young 20-somethings. He's our man and will grow with the rest of our brilliant young guns. To get perfect 'back up' is so difficult. Pay £6/7m for a Connor Wickham or get in a 33 year old global superstar & former world player of the year? This is ideal, I just hope he's in good physical shape and can avoid serious injures.
