Unfortunately doesn't walk so well these days so gave up his season ticket last year after he had a fall outside Goodison.

..just thinking, your Dad must have been taught by priests. I played in a county schoolboy trial there in the ‘70s. The pitch in the bowl your dad will be aware of. I smashed in a goal then turned an ankle so bad I had to come off, it was a priest who helped me back to the changing room. Back on thread, I know Sammy didn’t play in that game.

It's safe here Eggs. We can talk about it.

...please pass on my regards, he sounds a real gentleman and a true Evertonian.
Will do mate. He was brought up in the Dingle, but was the only one in his class to pass the 11+, hence he went to SFX. His brother, my late uncle, ended up as a high court judge, so they did pretty well for themselves. He's been exiled in Formby for the last 45 years, still a massive blue and I rarely talk to him for more than 5 minutes without Everton entering the conversation.

Yes he was taught by Jesuits. From the stories he told me, they could be a bit strict!! not sure today's kids could cope with that kind of discipline.
